Caprock Classic Car Club Show and Cruise July 14th & 15th
This will be the 22nd year the Caprock Classic Car Club has hosted this event and for sixteen of those years they have brought it to Slaton. The cruise is from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on Friday. The fee is $10/free for car show participants. The swap meet is getting bigger and some really amazing stuff is showing up. If you want to set up the fee is $20/$30. If you have questions, more information is on the registration form as well as the contact information. The show pre-entry fee is $30, then $35 the day of the show. Awards will be presented at approximately 4:30pm. Good luck to all.
Now for our vendors. I have food vendors already signed up. Our old favorites the Classy Caboose, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Kettle Corn as well as some new ones. The general vendors are sending in their registration forms now. Seems to start earlier every year. So, if you are interested, call or email the chamber office. Please note: All Vendors Must Be Approved. If you plan on selling something, the sooner you sign up the better. (806) 828-6238 firstname.lastname@example.org Car Show Registration Form

Lights on the Square
Thank you to Jim Andrus, Brooke Etheredge, Patsy Vessels, Mike Lamberson, and Barbara Hopper for spearheading the fund raising efforts for the lights. Local businesses and individuals stepped up and supported this effort with enough money to fund the initial purchase of lights and supplies.
After much research the directors found lights that would meet our needs while holding up in typical West Texas weather. Installation was a long painstaking process The wind fought our efforts, but we did prevail. Thank you to directors who came out to help. A few of the City employees worked diligently on the trees, electricity, wiring and installation of the lights for several days. Many thanks to each of you. Volunteers from Slaton ISD Maintenance Department took over one day to help out, again, thank you. We hope everyone will enjoy the lights. This is only the beginning. Watch for more as the Chamber moves forward with a new vision for Slaton.
