What a great turn out for the Grand Opening of Allsup's here in Slaton on HWY 84. We had a full group from the Slaton Chamber of Commerce, City of Slaton and Slaton Economic Development Corp for the ribbon cutting. Allsup's had great prizes and free hot dogs all day. KSSL was there for added fun. Allsup's also presented donations to Mercy Manna and Slaton ISD.
The Pieceful Quilter Joins the Square

Movies on the Wall
It's back courtesy of Slaton Legacy Project. Located at 106 Texas Avenue, the movies will begin around sundown. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and get comfortable. Concessions are available. Grand Opening of the Slaton Animal Hospital
Saturday, June 19th at noon. Ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an open house party. They will be hosting tours of their facilities (hosptial/boarding). There will also be food trucks, demonstrations and door prizes. Special guests from the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center include Roman, the pig and Cleo, the owl. Festivities will run through the afternoon.
Mitchell-Overturff Center for Industrial Trades Ribbon Cutting and Dedication
It was a great moment for the Slaton community and high school as we dedicated the new Mitchell-Overturff Center for Industrial Trades. The building was named in honor of longtime Vocational Education teachers Don Mitchell and Sherrell Overturff. Members of both families, as well as city and school officials, were on hand to cut the ribbon to officially open the center.
Membership Cook Out
Our annual membership cook out, Thursday, June 3rd. We had a great time at the annual membership cookout. The weather was perfect. A big thank you to the grill masters Jim, Terry and Mike. A special thank you to Humble Grounds for the tea and SEDCO for providing the desserts.

Slaton Economic Development Corporation
Economic Development and Incentive Grants Applications must be received by the first of the month to be presented to the Board of Slaton EDC Board of Directors.
